It started
in San Diego.

“I’m a born-and-raised, multigeneration San Diegan. The beach was a big part of my life. While living in Mission Beach, I was struck by a stingray, even while shuffling my feet.

I started looking for something I could wear in the water that offered protection while still feeling close to barefoot. That search became Foot Heros.

Over more than ten years, I’ve worn them in Mexico, Florida, and on beaches around the world. People stop me to ask about the shine. What keeps me wearing them is the comfort and freedom to move.”

The low-cut, flexible version featured in the viewer. Rings continue underneath the foot, with an adjustable cord at the opening.

A little more underfoot.

An added walking surface explores a different feel on firmer ground. One of several variations developed along the way.

The idea has also grown into high-top prototypes with taller coverage and hook-and-loop fastening.

Are they heavy?

The metal surprises people. These are lightweight, flexible shoes. “I’ve worn mine for more than a decade. The comfort is why I keep bringing them along.”

Does the water version have a solid sole?

No. The design featured in the viewer is chainmail all the way underneath. Added-bottom prototypes are a separate variation.

How do they feel?

“It really does feel like you’re barefoot.” The rings flex around the foot, with an open construction that allows air and water through.

Can I buy a pair?
